During my short visit to NOLA, we stayed at the Renaissance Hotel, in which this gem is located. LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT THESE CHARBROILED OYSTERS! I mean it's one of the few things I came here for (like, almost everyone else) & they did not disappoint. To be honest, this was my first time ever eating oysters in my life so I have nothing to compare them to BUT I'll def be thinking of them for a long time from now.
After a long day of keeping up with a Sunday second line, we were dying of a nap and some food. Everything was closing at 10 so we made the better choice of ordering takeout and heading back to bed. We got downstairs around 915 and had the option of sitting in a both or at the bar. There was one bartender who was OWNING that bar by her lonesome. Our order took a little under 30 minutes which was fine for us. My cousin ordered the salmon with Brussel sprouts & I had the Charbroiled oysters and the veg of the day which was asparagus ($6). She had a shit load of Brussel sprouts and I was expecting the same for my asparagus but that was a fail. She finished every bit of her food so I assumed it was delish. Now back to they oysters. First off, it was warm when we got upstairs but I DID NOT CARE! The oysters were so fresh and decent sized. They topped it with it seems butter garlic and Parmesan which almost bought me to tears. I found myself scraping the sauce/seasoning to eat with my likkle asparagus. I'm headed to other popular oyster spots as well but these were def TOP 1 of 1 lol -

This is a conveniently located hotel restaurant located a block off the main tourist zone of Canal St. and Bourbon St., in the Renaissance Pere Marquette hotel.
The decor was nautical themed and they have a raw oyster bar as you walk in.
The staff were dealt with were all very nice.Their happy hour is from 3 to 6 with $3 drafts and they have some tasty Local brews. We came here because we were told by a server from another restaurant downtown that this was a good place for oyster po boys. I have to agree! The po boy was great. It was loaded with oysters which the roll had no chance of containing. They were cooked perfectly, lightly battered and tasted great.
Kim had the chicken and waffles. She said it tasted good, but the chicken breading was a little too thick. She really liked the syrup served with it, it was bacon infused!
So try it out, we will next time we are in town. -

Fries are 5/5
Everything else is a 0/5
Staff is nice but it can get insanely crowded
I'd recommend spending your money where else
- last time I came here: Ordered the rib-eye medium rare & I received a burnt crispy steak. Asked for it to be fixed & it turned into a huge event -

I am no Po Boy expert but this was just ok, nothing to write home about. We stopped here on the end of the noon hour last Sunday and didn't have a lot of time because of a pending bus tour and our pick-up time. We were the only ones in here. We went with the shrimp po boy and sharing one since we planned a mid-day beignet and dinner out that evening. The bread was really dry and there wasn't much mayo so it all kind of fell apart. I did love the fries they were super skinny and ultra crispy. Also our waitress was very kind and put up with me wanting to change tables so I could be near an outlet and she had our sandwich already cut along with an extra plate. I'm guess they do know more dinner hour business. Every time we walked by headed to the French Quarter there seemed to be more people later in the day. It's a pretty cool looking restaurant- or at least the bar area!

Good happy hour and nice waitress. We had oyster and wings. The wings were awesome. They are "dry" wings that came out hot and crispy. The $5 cocktails at happy hour were great too
